Physically
speaking, what can my staff do to be more attentive to patrons?

In order to be attentive to patrons, the staff must first be available and also identifiable. Having all staff wear easily identifiable name tags is traditional but falls under the “necessary but not sufficient” banner. To enhance visibility try coordinating shirts or blouses to enable patrons to quickly identify employees from a distance. Another idea we came across is to provide a fresh supply of carnations to staff. Placing a red carnation in a sport coat button hole or pinned to a blouse can be a classy and easily identifiable staff identifier. Finally, attitude is key, smiling faces and pleasant greetings are one of the most visible ways to be noticed and one of the most effective ways to reinforce customer reciprocation. |
