What is necessary
for a good library logo?
Bill Haig |
|
A logo can be one of your most important marketing tools for your library. According to Bill Haig, author of The Power of Logos, you want a logo that is designed to establish credibility by revealing that your library is competent, forward thinking, knowledgeable and trustworthy. This can be done by showing patrons when they use your services they will have positive outcomes such as information at their fingertips and the opportunity to gain knowledge. Also remember that logos should be visually
appealing, simple and catches your patrons’ eye. This should include your library’s
name clearly written, with a color and style that is appropriate for
your library. Remember imaginative logos grasp the overall purpose
of your library: opening new doors through learning. Source: Bill Haig, The Power of Logos: How to Create Effective Company Logos, John Wiley & Sons, New York, 1997. |
